The university provides post-secondary education. Services include academic programs leading to baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate degrees. The university also provides disabled student services; distance education opportunities, including online courses; an educational opportunity program (see the separate entry) for economically disadvantaged students; Extension services; and educational programs for older adults. There are no geographic restrictions.
Disabled Student Services include accommodated test taking, notetakers, readers and research assistants. A DSS department conducts interviews and assessments for program services.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a nonprofit agency located on the CSULB campus that provides extended studies or extended education for older adults ages 50 and up. Courses are available online and at the university in a variety of fields. The older adult programs also provide speakers and other cultural events for seniors.
