Legal Information Services

The program provides legal services primarily for Antelope, San Fernando, Santa Clarita Valleys, East Ventura County and Westlake area residents. Services include legal counseling for older adults, a lawyer referral service, an internet referral service, and a professional association for member attorneys. Geographic and other restrictions apply for some services.

There are no services provided on-site to the general public; on-site services are offered only to member attorneys. The general public may call for lawyer referrals.

The association provides legal counseling for adults age 60 and older who live in the San Fernando Valley. Services are provided at senior centers and may include wills, living trusts, power of attorney probate, Elderlaw, public benefits information, asset preservation, personal injury, real estate and bankruptcy. Matters which require further services may be handled by the consulting attorney; arrangements are made by the client.

The association assesses callers' needs and arranges a consultation with a member attorney. People who need ongoing legal assistance may make independent arrangements with the attorney.
