Vehicle Recycling
Provider: SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
The agency provides vehicle recycling programs for Los Angeles County. Geographic restrictions may apply.
The Replace Your Ride program offers eligible participants assistance with replacing an older, high-polluting vehicle with a newer or hybrid/electric vehicle. The program may also provide vouchers for rideshares or public transit passes. Eligibility requirements include, residing in the jurisdiction of South Coast Air Quality Management District and meeting income and vehicle requirements.
Please note that due to high demand and limited funds, the Replace Your Ride program has reached capacity. The program may re-open if new funding becomes available.
The district also provides information about Old Vehicle Scrapping, a voluntary program developed to encourage vehicle owners to retire older, higher-emitting vehicles.
