Pre-Employment Background Checks (Child Care Issues)
Provider: CALIFORNIA CHILD CARE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL NETWORK - TRUSTLINE PROGRAM
The agency provides services related to child care and child protective services for the state of California. Under contract with the CA Department of Social Services, it hosts the TrustLine toll-free number and provides information and technical assistance on the TrustLine program. Services include pre-employment background checks and public awareness/education for child care issues, and child care worker registries. There are no geographic restrictions.
TrustLine is a background check that is required for license-exempt child care providers (babysitters. nannies and home-based child care providers), professional visitation monitors, and drivers for transport escort or on demand transport services in California. Once a provider applies, Trustline uses the California Criminal History System to check fingerprints, examines California's Child Abuse Central Index for substantiated child abuse reports, and checks the FBI criminal history records.
