At Risk Youth Employment Programs

Provider: CITY OF LOS ANGELES ECONOMIC AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT - WATTS LOS ANGELES YOUTHSOURCE CENTER

The agency provides employment services for youth age 16 to 24 in the city of Los Angeles. Services include at risk youth employment programs, and WIOA programs. There are geographic restrictions.

WIOA programs include programs administered through the Economic Workforce Development Department California system. Young adults, age 18 to 24 may co-enroll in YouthSource and adult WorkSource WIOA programs. 

The YouthSource program is designed to assist youth who are not in school and not working, find the classes they need to graduate or get on a patch to receive their high school diploma and puruse higher education. Centers are located in underserved neighborhoods and services are offered in multiple languages; call to confirm. To be eligible family income must meet Federal poverty guidelines. 

Services include assistance with work readiness, job skills training, career guidance, and college preparation and financial aid opportunities. Participants may receive mentoring, counseling and tutoring; access to computers is provided.
