The agency offers legal assistance through specialized projects, self-help clinics and workshops. Services include assistance with issues related to child care, consumer fraud, housing, community economic development, public benefits and workplace rights for females. Professional assistance for non-profit organizations is also available.
The Consumer Law Project offers legal representation to low-income people for ongoing litigation matters, particularly cases involving real property fraud, home-foreclosure matters, consumer fraud, student loan problems, used car problems, collection agencies problems, and uninsured torts defense.
The Child Care Law Project provides advice and representation to low-income family home day care providers and non-profit child care centers on licensing, zoning, insurance and landlord-tenant issues, child abuse reporting, and administrative and regulatory procedures.
The Audrey Irmas Project for Women and Girl's Rights (WGR) is a free weekly workplace rights advice clinic. Topics include sexual harassment and discrimination, labor negotiations, fair compensation and employment rights that uniquely affect women.
The Debtor Assistance Project provides legal assistance with Chapter 7 bankruptcy and operates a walk-in self-help clinic.
The Homelessness Prevention Law Project provides free court representation and counseling to low-income individuals and families, including those that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, including assistance for public benefits. Shelter advocacy provides legal clinics in the homeless shelters, runaway youth shelters and for veterans.
The Federal Pro Se Clinic provides legal assistance to people who are representing themselves in federal lawsuits in the Central District of California. Information about the procedures involved in lawsuits at the federal level is available. The clinic does not assist with state court cases or appeals, or with bankruptcy cases.
