Coaching Volunteer Opportunities

The program provides recreation programs for people of all ages who live in Montebello. The department provides cultural, educational, and community service programs. Services include arts and crafts instruction; child care programs for preschool age children; coaching volunteer opportunities for adults; a day camp; recreational activities/sports such as swimming; recreational/leisure/arts instruction classes for all ages; a school lunch program for low income youth, ages 1 through 18; and sports leagues for youth and adults in such sports as baseball, basketball, football and soccer; and youth development programs for pre-adolescents, adolescents and young adults, ages 10 through 21.
Recreational/Leisure/Arts instruction is conducted in a variety of fields, including aerobics, dance instruction, music instruction, self-defense, and swimming.
Programs for youth include youth afterschool recreation programs which include indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, sports, special activities, seasonal trips and homework help. Pre-teens and teens ages 12 to 17 participate in recreational activities that include excursions to theme parks and the beach and volunteer opportunities, to promote community awareness and civic pride.
The city also sponsors special events such as summer concerts, festivals, and holiday celebrations.

Application Procedure
Call or walk in for information. Enrollment for recreational classes takes place at the beginning of each month. Classes run for four weeks/session. Adult sports leagues contact the designated number.
Fees
There are fees for some classes and materials. Day Camp fees are for Summer camp is $180 for 2 week session and registration fee of $20; Spring and Winter camps are $90 a week and if in the extended day program no registration fee. Adult sports leagues fees range from $200 to $315.
