The agency provides counseling services to individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include general counseling services, perinatal/postpartum depression counseling, professional continuing education, and psychodynamic therapy. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency provides short and long-term intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy for couples, individuals and adult families who are experiencing emotional difficulties. The agency also offers a trauma group for women.
Individual psychotherapy may address issues such, trauma, depression, anxiety, post-partum difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, grief or loss, life transitions, relationship and career struggles, marital problems, parenting, LGBTQ concerns, and personal enrichment.
The agency does not provide court ordered treatment, does not work with severely mentally ill individuals, and does not provide medication directly.
In addition to these direct services for patients, the Institute's Postgraduate Center offers a two year, 20 hour per week (half time) or 35 hours per week (full time) advanced training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and clinical assessment for MSW's, psychologists, and MFT's. It also provides an internship program for graduate students in psychology. There are no geographic restrictions.
