Certificates/Forms Assistance

Provider: NEIGHBORHOOD LEGAL SERVICES OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY - ANTELOPE VALLEY SELF-HELP LEGAL ACCESS CENTER

The agency provides advocacy for low-income people in Los Angeles County. Services include certificate/forms assistance on issues of family law and some civil matters, self-representation assistance and welfare rights assistance. There are no geographic restrictions.

Self-Help Legal Access centers are located in the Antelope Valley, Chatsworth, Pasadena, Pomona and Van Nuys courthouses. The centers provide self-representation assistance and forms assistance in the areas of divorce, child custody, guardianship, eviction, name changes, restraining orders and claims exemptions (garnishments).  

The agency does not accept criminal or fee-generating cases such as personal injury suits or workers' compensation. The agency does not assist with criminal law matters.

Self-Help Legal Access Center hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 12:00pm, and 1:00pm to 4:00pm; Friday, 8:30am to 12:00pm. Individuals arriving late in the day may be asked to return on another day.
