Drug Use Disorder Education/Prevention
Provider: NATIONAL COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG DEPENDENCE OF EAST SAN GABRIEL VALLEY AND POMONA VALLEY, INC
The agency provides substance use disorder services for adults and adolescents who live in Los Angeles County. Services include alcohol use disorder education/prevention, comprehensive outpatient alcohol use disorder treatment, comprehensive outpatient drug use disorder treatment, drug use disorder education/prevention, drug/alcohol testing, family maintenance/reunification, first offender DUI programs, multiple offender DUI programs, organizational development and management services, sober living homes, and specialized information and referral. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Choices and Changes program is for adolescents and teens age 12 to 18 who are drug-involved or who have previously been through drug-related programs. The program includes group counseling and alcohol education.
The agency provides printed educational material about alcohol dependence and operates a speakers bureau which provides multi-media educational programs for schools, community services groups and other agencies.
The family reunification program is a six-month program for families that have been separated due to alcohol or drug abuse. Participants are required to attend individual and group counseling, discussion groups, twelve-step meetings and parenting classes. Random drug tests are mandatory.
Parenting classes are offered in conjunction with the family reunification program or separately as a unique program.
Cypress House sober living facility is for males only and provides housing for people who have completed a treatment program or are in a personal stable recovery mode and need support. No services are provided at the sober living house.
Specialized drug and alcohol-related information and referral offers information about community resources and referral to those services.
The first and multiple offender drinking driver programs are for court-referred people and includes alcohol education and group counseling.
