Specialized Information and Referral

The agency provides youth services to youth, ages 12 through 24, in Los Angeles County and throughout the state of California. Services include crisis intervention hotlines/helplines, runaway/homeless youth hotlines and specialized information and referral. There are no geographic restrictions.

The hotline provides telephone crisis counseling and support for youth and their families, on a variety of topics including family conflict, depression or sadness, dating issues and violence, running away and homelessness, sexual identity and orientation, bullying and self harm. Information and referral is also available for a wide variety of services including food, shelter, medical care, and transportation.

It also provides a neutral message/relay center which conveys messages from youth to their parents in all areas of the United States, and accepts messages from parents to relay to young people if they call in.
