Medicaid Appeals/Complaints (Civil Rights Issues)
The agency provides appeals and complaints support for individuals in Los Angeles County who feel they have faced discrimination in dealings with CalFresh, MediCal or General Relief. There are not geographic restrictions.
This office takes complaints regarding civil rights violations from African-American, Asian-Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic and Native American recipients. Applicants or recipients who believe they have been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, political affiliation, religion, marital status, sex, age, or disability can file a complaint with the DPSS Civil Rights Section.

Application Procedure
For complaints of Civil Rights discrimination, call the Customer Relations office and request to speak with the african-american, asian-pacific islander, mexican/chicano/latino or native american community liaison. No walk-ins are accepted at any of these offices.
