The program provides technology services for low-income people in Los Angeles county and statewide. Services include discounted cellular telephone and wireless service for eligible individuals who meet income, residence and tax status requirements. The program offers the Universal Lifeline Telephone Service (ULTS) plan and the Affordable Connectivity Plan; certain restrictions apply. There are no geographic restrictions.
TruConnect provides eligible individuals with a free cell phone and free or low-cost wireless cellular phone service with various plans for text, talk, and data/mobile internet access through a hotspot that seamlessly connects to free public wifi service. There are no contracts or bundles.
Low cost phones and service plans, including pay-as-you-go, are available for those who do not qualify for free service.
