Benefits Assistance (AIDS/HIV)

The Hope Center unit provides HIV/AIDS services for people in the Antelope Valley. Services include AIDS treatment, benefits assistance for people with AIDS/HIV, and case/care management for patients with AIDS/HIV. There are no geographic restrictions.

The unit is an outpatient center with designated medical staff and medical social workers. HIV testing is anonymous and confidential. The Orasure method of testing is used; results are available within a week. The site registers its own participants for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), which provides FDA-approved HIV-related drugs at little or no cost to those who are eligible; call for more information.

The center also conducts HIV education, prevention and outreach programs, and sponsors mutual support groups.
