Certificates/Forms Assistance (Developmental Disabilities)

The program provides family support services for parents of children, age birth to 3, living in the Harbor area of Los Angeles County. Services include certificate/forms assistance, family support centers, parent to parent networking, parenting materials, trainings and disability specific information and referrals and are available to residents of Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, Lomita, San Pedro, Wilmington and parts of Carson.

The Family Resource Center provides parent to parent emotional support, support groups and parent education workshops on many topics. The center also has a warmline/helpline, staffed by parents of children with disabilities, who provide support and resources. All calls are answered within 48 hours. Home visits can be arranged.

The center also maintains a lending library stocked with parenting materials such as books and videos which provides information for families of children with special needs.

The agency also presents seminars and workshops a year aimed at preparing families to help their special needs children to transition from Early Intervention programs to the public school system.
