Preschools

The school district is a delegate agency for the Head Start/State Preschool program. It administers the funding and coordinates the enrollment for the sites within its jurisdiction, provides information about the Head Start/State Preschool program for interested parties and refers callers who wish to enroll their children to the appropriate Head Start/State preschool site. The program serves people who live in Norwalk zip code 90650, La Mirada zip code 90638 and Downey zip code 90240, 90241 and 90242. Eligibility is based upon program and family income guidelines. Age and geographic restrictions apply.

Classes are located at the Ramona, Sanchez, Huerta, Foster Road, New River, Glazier, Chavez, Nuffer, Paddison and Johnston schools. Downey families are served at the Gallatin Center.
