Spread Awareness. The representation of Jesus has been a hotly contested topic for centuries. However, not as many people can speak to the deeply racialized history of representing Jesus’ representation as a white person. Misinformation can contribute to either forgetting about the past or reinforcing incorrect ideas that promote racist ideas and histories.
Is there one person in your family, community or friend group that you could have a conversation with about the representation of Jesus in your community? How would you start that conversation or bring the topic up?
Taking information breaks. Sometimes that amount of information in the world can be overwhelming, especially if it all feels like bad or hard news.
