Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Treatment

The center provides counseling services for individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include adolescent/youth counseling, bereavement counseling, divorce counseling, family counseling, general counseling, geriatric counseling, group counseling for male spouse/domestic partner abusers, marriage counseling, parent counseling, parenting skills classes, parent support groups, perinatal/postpartum depression counseling, premarital counseling, and sexuality counseling. There are no geographic restrictions.

   The Counseling Center is the primary training facility for Phillips Graduate University; counseling sessions are conducted by trained, pre-licensed trainees and interns under the supervision of licensed therapists.  

  The center does not serve people who are violent, have attempted suicide more than twice, are actively suicidal or have been hospitalized repeatedly for psychiatric problems; however, recovering substance abusers who are involved in a mutual support or other recovery programs are welcome.

    The center offers a variety of support groups. These include a group for unemployed men and women; an anger management group for adults and teens; a male batterer's group; and parenting development skills classes. Group offerings change; call for an updated listing.

  An 8-week parenting skills development class is also available. Staff will provide progress reports to the court as needed, but do not provide child custody evaluations. It is open to ongoing enrollment.
