The association provides health services relating to lung health such as lung disease, lung cancer, smoking cessation and air quality for people of all ages in Los Angeles County. Services include disease/disability information about respiratory diseases including asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive lung disease, lung cancer, sarcoidosis and tuberculosis; smoking education/prevention and acting as a voluntary health organization pertaining to health care issues. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency's asthma programs include Open Airways for Schools which helps children ages 8 to 11 manage their asthma; Asthma 101 which offers basic asthma education for community and family members through seminars; an Exercise and Asthma program that helps school staff recognize students with asthma and how to respond to them; Asthma Camps and Breathe Well, Live Well, which is an adult asthma education program.

The agency also provides information regarding clean air, smoking cessation through group support as well as online courses, smoking education/prevention for students in grades 4 to 6 as well as information for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, influenza, tuberculosis and other types of lung disease.

The agency organizes several special events throughout the year to support and promote lung health.
