Women's Advocacy Groups

This office administers the direct services offered at the various YWCA branches and facilities and provides a speakers bureau which offers presentations about the YWCA for community groups. The agency also recruits, trains, and utilizes volunteers in all areas of the organization.
The organization provides the Racial Justice program which works to eliminate racism in local communities through symposiums and school field trips. Also provided is economic literacy for women through workshops and classes.
The organization's policy-making boards are composed of women, and only women and girls can be full YWCA members; men and boys are associates. In addition, archival records of the YWCA Greater Los Angeles from 1894 to the present are housed at California State University at Northridge, South Library, Rm. 204.
