Personal Safety Education

The agency provides law enforcement services for residents of Redondo Beach. Services include abandoned vehicle reporting, animal control, business security evaluations, crime prevention, fraud prevention, law enforcement complaints, municipal police, neighborhood watch programs, personal safety education, police reports residential security evaluations, sexual assault prevention, and temporary restraining order assistance services. The service area is restricted to the city of Redondo Beach. Temporary restraining order assistance is provided on a short term (72 hrs.), emergency basis only. Regular TROs must be applied for at a Superior Court location. Crime prevention services include Neighborhood Watch programs, information about robbery prevention; a sexual assault prevention program, and commercial and home security checks. It also offers an elderly crime victim program which provides information about bunco schemes, direct bank deposits, purse snatching and riding the bus safely; a Harbor Watch Program which includes a boat owners' safety program; and a children's safety program which introduces children to crime prevention and general safety. The Department provides Animal Control Services after-hours for the Animal Services Dept., call the Direct Dispatch/Non Emergency number.
