Residential Drug Use Disorder Treatment Facilities

The agency provides residential treatment for substance use disorders for people in Los Angeles County. Services include residential alcohol use disorder treatment facilities, residential drug use disorder treatment facilities, a perinatal drug use treatment program, and social model detox programs. Some services are targeted to the Spanish-speaking community; people who have hearing impairments; and homeless people, including homeless women with children. The programs are unable to accommodate people with severe mental or emotional problems or whose behavior may endanger others. All residential programs require people be detoxified prior to acceptance.

  Residential services for men are primarily available to residents of Southeast Los Angeles, and for women are primarily available to residents of the Downey-Whittier area, however anyone may apply.

     Angel Step Too provides residential treatment for women age 18 to 65; children younger than age 9 months may stay with their mothers during their stay. All programs include counseling, alcohol and drug education, HIV/AIDS education, drop-in activities, peer groups, twelve-step groups and recreational activities. The programs for women also include parenting education. On-site prevention programs are provided for the children of residents.

  La Casita is a residential program for residents of Los Angeles County. Services include counseling, substance abuse education, referrals to medical care, parenting skills training, prejob guidance, and discharge planning. 

  Positive Steps provides a 90 day residential substance abuse treatment for homeless men, men with a long criminal history, and men with/or at high risk for HIV/AIDs. Recovery care is based on medical necessity assessment. Limited mental health services are available.
