Public Awareness/Education

The agency provides information and referral for child care resources for families and for eligible low income families who live in Artesia, Avalon, Bellflower, Carson, Cerritos, Harbor City, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach, Norwalk, San Pedro, Signal Hill and Wilmington areas. Services include administrative entities for child care issues; child care provider referrals; child care subsidies; and public awareness/education. The agency also provides child care information and referral for Orange County at their Orange site. There are geographic restrictions for some services.

The agency provides child care information and referral to residents of Los Angeles County for licensed childcare service providers located in the service area which includes the zip codes 90650, 90651, 90652, 90701, 90702, 90703, 90704, 90706, 90707, 90710, 90711, 90712, 90713, 90714, 90715, 90716, 90731, 90732, 90733, 90734, 90744, 90745, 90746, 90755, 90801, 90802, 90803, 90804, 90805, 90806, 90807, 90808, 90809, 90810, 90813, 90814, 90815, 90831, 90832, 90833, 90834, 90835, 90840, 90842, 90844, 90846, 90848, 90853 and 90899.

The agency also provides subsidies for child care to eligible low income families who are currently working, seeking work, in training, homeless, or for families who have an active child protective services case.
