Disease/Disability Information (Disabilities Issues)
Provider: UNIFICATION OF DISABLED LATIN AMERICANS
The agency primarily provides supportive services for people with disabilities who live in Los Angeles County. It also provides assistance for people who have physical disabilities who live in Latin America and promotes community awareness of the need for accessibility and the importance of decreasing barriers for people who have disabilities. Services include support and information about disabilities. There are no geographic restrictions.
Information and/or instruction in areas including health, hygiene, personal development and sex education is available.
Supportive services include assistance with obtaining physical rehabilitation, and encouragement of educational advancement and reintegration into society. Medical equipment and mobility aids is occasionally provided to low-income people; however, this service is dependent on donations and not always available.
