Medic Alert

The foundation provides a medical information and identification system for people of all ages in Los Angeles. Services include a Medic Alert identification bracelet or pendant which is worn by the individual and linked to a confidential emergency medical file. There are no geographic restrictions. 

  Bracelets or necklaces are engraved with primary medical condition, the file number of the wearer and the telephone number of Medic Alert's central file information center. The emergency medical file includes additional medical information. People may register information about any special medical problem or condition they have in case of unconsciousness, shock, delirium, hysteria or loss of speech. People may also include full medical history information. Medical problems or disabling conditions may include allergies to drugs, Alzheimer's disease, asthma, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or heart problems.

  Homeless individuals or those unable to pay may qualify for a sponsored membership program. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH French, Portuguese, Spanish; translation service is available in 140 languages for the medic alert device.
