Sexual Assault Hotlines

Provider: RAPE, ABUSE & INCEST NATIONAL NETWORK - DOD SAFE HELPLINE

The agency provides a helpline for sexual assault services for active military personnel and their family via a contract with the Department of Defense (DoD). Service includes a sexual assault hotline, internet based crisis intervention, and information and referral for issues specific to supporting the DoD community. There are no geographic restrictions.

The DoD Safe Helpline provides live specialized support and information, and is confidential. All Safe Helpline staff have been trained to answer military-specific questions regarding topics such as Restricted and Unrestricted Reporting options. The helpline is in support of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Programs, but calls are answered by RAINN agency staff. When survivors are ready, Safe Helpline staff can connect them to a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) or Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA).

More information regarding the DoD Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) is available online at www.sapr.mil.
