Sexual Assault/Incest Support Groups

The program provides sexual assault services for adults in Los Angeles County. Services include printed materials for adult incest survivors and sexual assault/incest support groups for incest survivors and families/friends of incest survivors. There are no geographic restrictions.

The support groups follow the 12-Step and 12-Tradition program. The groups offer an opportunity for members to talk about their experiences, thoughts and feelings with others who have had similar experiences and to share encouragement and support toward recovery. There are no professional therapists in the groups.

The only requirement for membership is that one must be a survivor of child sexual abuse and NOT be abusing any child. The group defines incest as a sexual experience by a family member or by an extended family member that damaged the child. "Extended family" may include an aunt, uncle, in-law, step-parent, cousin, friend of the family, teacher, coach, another child, clergy or anyone that betrayed the trust of the survivor.
