Inpatient Mental Health Facilities (Adults)

The medical center provides inpatient mental health services for adults age 18 and older in Los Angeles. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic limits.
Adolescents may be seen on an emergency basis only. Three specialized units are available; a 41-bed open unit for people who are experiencing emotional problems and impairment to function; a 19-bed closed unit which provides close supervision for people who are unable to function in their life roles. Services provided in these units include assessment, individual psychotherapy, pharmacological services, adjunctive therapy and social work support. A bereavement support group for adults age 18 and older is also available.
