Recreational/Leisure/Arts Instruction

The department provides recreational programs for people of all ages who live in Redondo Beach and surrounding communities. Services include beaches, physical fitness, recreational activities/sports, recreational/leisure/arts instruction and special events. Some services are restricted to Redondo Beach residents.
The department manages the parks and community facilities including the major parks, Seaside Lagoon, Wilderness Park, the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, Senior Citizens Centers, Perry Park Teen Center, Historical Museum and tennis facilities.
Recreational programs include classes and camps; adult sports leagues; after school and summer playgrounds; and performing arts.
Seaside Lagoon is a saltwater facility with water that is chlorinated as it enters and de-chlorinated as it exits back into the harbor. The facility provides lifeguard supervision, water slides, children's playground equipment, and volleyball courts; a grassed area and luau shelter is also available for day and evening events. No face masks, snorkels, or inner tubes are allowed; however, children may bring small flotation rings and water toys into the shallow end.
