Family Support Centers/Outreach

The agency provides family support services primarily for low-income families with children and youth that are at risk in the Hollywood/Wilshire area. Age and geographic restrictions apply for some services.
The Family Project is a prevention and treatment program for families with children from birth to age eight who are at risk for child abuse or neglect. The program targets teen parents, developmentally delayed and mentally ill parents, low income families, and single parent families. Social workers make weekly home visits to provide case management, counseling, parent education and to help families utilize available community resources.
The Early Head Start program provides early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development, health and family support services to low-income families with children under age three and to pregnant women. The service area of the Early Head Start program is restricted to zip codes 90004, 90016, 90019, 90020, 90026, 90027, 90028, 90029, 90034, 90035, 90036, 90038, 90039, 90046, 90048, 90069, 90210, 90211, 90212.
Project staff make home visits to provide parenting education, support, counseling, child development activities and case management. The program has parent-child socialization groups which meet at the agency offices.
