Subject Specific Public Awareness/Education
Provider: YWCA GREATER LOS ANGELES - ANGELES MESA EMPOWERMENT CENTER
The center provides sexual assault services for girls and women ages 12 and older in Los Angeles county. Services include crime victim accompaniment services, self defense training, sexual assault counseling, sexual assault/incest support groups and subject specific public awareness/education. All services are confidential. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.
Advocates provide 24-hour accompaniment services to women at hospitals, law enforcement agencies and courts.
A self defense training program teaches awareness, assertiveness and physical techniques.
Individual and group counseling is available for female survivors of sexual assault and victims of human trafficking; assistance is also available for family members of clients.
