In Person Crisis Intervention

Provider: UNITED CAMBODIAN COMMUNITY

The agency provides services for refugees and entrants throughout Los Angeles County. Services include case/care management, ethnic/cultural festivals, in person crisis intervention, and translation/interpretation services. There are no geographic restrictions.

The project is a multilingual, multicultural health and social education program which provides outreach services to low income people in the Southeast Asian and Latino communities of Long Beach. Staff conduct many cultural awareness activities to promote greater understanding among the various ethnic groups they serve.

Community services include case management for Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees, and crisis support for monolingual Cambodians.

Translators, recruited by the agency, help overcome language and cultural barriers which may keep Southeast Asian and Latino people from seeking health care.
