HIV Testing

Provider: VALLEY COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE - TEEN CLINIC

The agency provides HIV/AIDS services for adolescents and adults, age 12 and older, who live primarily in the San Fernando Valley. Services include case management, HIV/AIDS public awareness and prevention, HIV testing and counseling for people who test positive. There are no geographic restrictions.

HIV/AIDS public awareness and education is provided through a speakers bureau and includes educational presentations concerning HIV and AIDS. Presentations are available to clinics, community groups, and schools.

HIV testing includes anonymous HIV antibody testing, pre-test counseling, and educational information. Test results are available, by appointment, approximately one week after the test is given for people who have been identified as HIV. Referrals for additional services are available if necessary. Various test options are available, including traditional blood draw, rapid oral and blood testing.

Individual, conjoint and family HIV counseling is available for people who have tested HIV positive. Medical outpatient services are also available.

The center enrolls patients for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), which provides FDA-approved HIV-related drugs at little or no cost to those who are eligible; call for more information.
