Career Counseling
Provider: CHRYSALIS - SAN FERNANDO VALLEY
The program provides employment services for low income adults in Los Angeles County. Services include career counseling, pre-job guidance and job search/placement. There are no geographic restrictions.
All clients must be currently seeking employment and be motivated to work; as well as physically, mentally and emotionally ready and able to work prior to beginning the self-directed job search program where they receive comprehensive support as they search for work. Clients work closely with their Employment Specialist to set short and long term goals.
The program provides a variety of supportive services which help clients gain and maintain employment including individual case management and employment counseling; resume writing; practicing for interviews; the use of telephones, computers and message services; transportation assistance; transitional job opportunities; work and interview clothes.
The agency in partnership with Los Angeles County Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR) offers the Skills and Experience for the Careers of Tomorrow (SECTOR) program for justice-system-involved adults. Services include, job skills training, paid work experience, financial assistance through stipends during program duration and mental health support and case management.
