Senior Ride Programs

Provider: CITY OF CARSON HUMAN SERVICES DIVISION - SENIOR SOCIAL SERVICES

The agency provides services for older adults, age 50 to 55 and older, who live in the city of Carson. Services include landlord/tenant assistance, recreational activities/sports, senior ride programs, social clubs/events, specialized information and referral, tax information. There are age, income, and/or geographic restrictions for some programs.

The case management staff can assess a senior's needs; provide crisis intervention and counseling; coordinate needed services; support care providers; act as an advocate for the senior; and provide information and assistance with needs like out-of-home placement, in-home supportive care, government benefits, and community resources.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to assist in the senior programs. The services volunteers may be trained to provide tax preparation, telephone reassurance, friendly visiting, and escort assistance. Senior volunteers also may serve on the Senior Advisory Council which makes recommendations about the delivery of services at the agency.
