Graffiti Removal

The agency provides services related to housing for low income residents of Downey who own their homes. Services include graffiti removal and home rehabilitation services. Income restrictions apply; services are restricted to Downey residents.
Home rehabilitation services include a grant program for low income households that do not have the resources necessary to correct health and safety code deficiencies. Grants must be used for critical home improvement projects; it cannot be used for luxury home improvements or repairs. The maximum grant for homeowners is $50,000. All proposed improvements must be approved by the City of Downey's Housing Division before work can begin.
There is currently a two to three year wait list for the home rehabilitation program.
