Temporary Restraining Orders

The police department provides law enforcement services for the city of Manhattan Beach. Services include abandoned vehicle reporting, animal control, automobile theft prevention, crime prevention, crime victim accompaniment services, employment related fingerprinting; law enforcement complaints, municipal police, neighborhood watch programs, sexual assault assistance, and temporary restraining order assistance services. Services are restricted to the city of Manhattan Beach.

Temporary restraining order assistance is provided on an after hours, short term (72 hrs.), emergency basis only. Regular TROs must be applied for at a Superior Court location.

Livescan fingerprinting is done two days per week for employment-related background checks.

The Community Services section provides crime awareness and prevention programs that address a variety of topics which include shoplifting, sexual assault, auto theft and burglary. The department also has a Neighborhood Watch program and a Victims Assistance Team, that provides accompaniment and support services for victims of crime.
