Home Delivered Meals
Provider: MEALS ON WHEELS - WEST LOS ANGELES INC
The program provides home delivered meals for people of all ages and incomes who are homebound due to age, disability or illness, including people who have AIDS. Clients must be unable to prepare meals for themselves; most are homebound. The program serves the following areas: Brentwood 90049, Westwood 90024, West Los Angeles 90025, VA 90073 and parts of 90034, 90064 and 90077. Geographic eligibility will be determined in the phone interview between the applicant and program staff.
The agency delivers a hot lunch and a cold supper five days per week; meals for Saturday and Sunday are delivered on Friday, if needed. The program is able to accommodate people who require low cholesterol, low-sodium, diabetic, soft diets, and other specialized diets. A letter from a physician, explaining the dietary needs of each participant is helpful but not required.

Application Procedure
Call to apply for service. Applicants eligibility is determined by a phone interview with staff; after the phone intake, delivery usually can begin within 2 to 3 days.
Fees
The fee is $9.50 per day, which includes a hot lunch and cold supper. Payment is made at the end of each month. Client assistance is available for those unable to pay the full amount; no one is denied meals due to inability to pay.
