Group Counseling
Provider: VENICE FAMILY CLINIC - COMMON GROUND
The agency provides HIV/AIDS services for individuals in West Los Angeles. Service include AIDS/HIV/STD prevention kits, case/care management, conjoint counseling, disease/disability information, family counseling, general counseling services, group counseling, health/disability related counseling, HIV testing, independent living skills instruction, individual counseling, needle exchange/distribution programs, outreach programs, and AIDS drug assistance programs. All services are confidential and restricted to clients living in the West Health District of Los Angeles County.
General mental health counseling services include individual, group, conjoint and family counseling. The focus may be directly related to HIV issues, AIDS, or on general mental health issues pre-existing the individual's HIV diagnosis.
The program also provides community outreach programs and prevention services. Outreach is conducted specifically to the homeless population, women, and youth. Court-ordered individuals may enroll in HIV 101, an education and prevention workshop that fulfills the order of the court for at risk youth and adults.
The program provides transportation to and from the agency for case management clients. Home visits are made in special circumstances.
The center enrolls patients for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), which provides FDA-approved HIV-related drugs at little or no cost to those who are eligible; call for more information.
