Bereavement and Grief Support Groups
Provider: OUR HOUSE GRIEF SUPPORT CENTER - WEST LOS ANGELES
The program provides counseling to people who live in Los Angeles County. Services include grief support groups for children, ages 4 1/2 to 18, adolescents and adults who have experienced the death of a parent, spouse, child, sibling or someone else close. People remain in the groups from six months to two years. There are no geographic restrictions for support groups.
Group members give and receive support through the sharing of feelings about the death in age appropriate groups.
Two volunteers lead each support group and are supervised by licensed program directors. Staff also speak to community groups about the issues of grief and bereavement. Community Grief Response program provides education and support for local businesses, schools, congregations and organizations after the death of a colleague, congregant, student or staff member.
