Substance Use Disorder Counseling

The clinics provide an integrated substance use disorder/mental health program for dually diagnosed clients at several of its locations. Services include comprehensive outpatient alcohol use disorder treatment and comprehensive outpatient drug use disorder treatment for adolescents and young adults, age 12 to 20; substance use disorder counseling for youth, adults and older adults with mental health issues; the program also serves dually-diagnosed TANF recipients in the Cal Works program. The service area is the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County (SPA 3).

Chemical dependency staff work with mental health clinicians to address the issues of self-medication and to treat and prevent substance abuse by adult, older adult, adolescent and pre-adolescent clients and their families. Individuals with co-occuring substance abuse and mental health diagnoses are helped to become clean and sober so they can effectively manage their mental illness and become medication compliant.
