Youth Shelters
Provider: ANGEL'S FLIGHT - AT RISK YOUTH SERVICES AND SHELTER
The program provides a runaway shelter for at risk youth age 10 to 17 who are in Los Angeles County, including pregnant and undocumented youth. The program is unable to accommodate youth who are intoxicated, severely mentally disturbed or a danger to themselves or others. Parental notification must be made within 72 hours; if parental notification is not available, the youth can receive a referral from the Los Angeles County Department of Children's Services. Transportation is provided to the shelter within a 12 mile radius. There are no geographic restrictions.
The shelter has beds for 16 youths and allows a maximum stay of 30 days with possible extension. Services include case management, individual, group and family counseling; crisis counseling; meals; medical and dental services; an on-site school affiliated with LAUSD; and recreational activities.
