Specialized Information and Referral (Older Adults)

This is the department's administrative office and it provides no direct services to the public. The department is mandated to ensure compliance with both federal and state requirements in the effective delivery of services for senior citizens.

The agency operates a toll free hotline for anyone needing services for seniors who live in the state of California. Callers are automatically connected to the Area Agency on Aging service provider in their area.

The agency works closely with directors of local Area Agencies on Aging and their satellite centers in the development of policies and programs serving seniors, such as congregate meal sites, nutrition sites, ombudsman, outreach, legal services and counseling.
