Provider: EL MONTE UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT - EL MONTE - ROSEMEAD ADULT SCHOOL

The adult school provides a wide range of educational services for adults age 18 and older who live in Los Angeles County. Services include basic education classes; family literacy, GED preparation, high school completion classes; trade, technical, and vocational classes; and court ordered parenting skills classes. Child care may be available while parents attend classes. There are no geographic restrictions.

Immigration services include ESL classes with levels from pre-literacy through advanced; citizenship classes, and distance learning. Classes are conducted morning, afternoon and evenings. There are no geographic restrictions for ESL/Citizenship classes.

Court ordered parenting classes are ongoing and are provided in 10 week sessions; the hours for the class are flexible and parents can bring their children to the classes.

Vocational education classes include business, computers, industrial and medical/health occupations.

Application Procedure
Call, walk in or visit the agency's website for information or to request a schedule of classes and locations. Registration is on a first come basis, depending on prerequisites. Most students can register at the first day and time the class meets. Continuing vocational education students who are working on a career cluster certificate can pre-register for some classes. High school diploma students must see an adult education counselor before registering. Call for information about the court ordered parenting classes.
Fees
There is currently a registration fee for all CTE, ESL and Parent Education courses. The registration fee for individuals living inside of the school district boundaries is $25 per quarter. Individuals living outside of the school district boundaries must pay a registration fee of $75 per quarter. Some courses may also have fees for materials.
