The organization offers 12-step mutual support groups, information about sex addiction and the program, referral to Sex Addicts Anonymous (SSA) support groups for people who want to stop their compulsive sexual behaviors, and community education in the form of printed materials.
The organization provides assistance for people who are already in the program who wish to start new SAA meetings. The program is operated by and for recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other to stay free of compulsive sexual behavior and is based on the 12 steps and 12 traditions as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
Meetings are held at various times and sites throughout Los Angeles County. All meetings follow general guidelines established by SAA; however, meetings may have different focal points. There are regular feature guest speakers or discussions about particular topics of interest, and meetings which focus on the study of the 12 steps and 12 traditions.
SAA publishes and distributes printed materials which outline SAA's programs and philosophy.
