Anger Management
Provider: PLAZA COMMUNITY SERVICES
The program provides family life education for families in Los Angeles County. Services include anger management, court ordered parenting programs targeted to hispanics/latinos, case/care management for pregnant women and new mothers, family preservation programs and spouse/intimate partner abuse counseling. Age and geographic restrictions apply for some services.
The anger management program has separate groups for adolescents and adults. The 26-week program is court approved; child care is available during classes.
The parenting skills program provides a 20 week course that focuses on improving parenting skills and a certificate of completion which is court approved. Child care is available during classes.
Case/care management is available through the Welcome Baby Program, provided in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Participants must be pregnant or have a child younger than 30 months, and live in SPA 4 zip codes 90004, 90005, 90006, 90013, 90015, 90017, 90019, 90020, 90023, 90027, 90029, 90032, 90039, 90046, 90048, 90057 or 90069. Parent educators visit mothers in their homes to provide information and support on issues such as parent-child bonding and attachment, child health and development, school readiness and safe home environments.
