Early Head Start Grantee/Delegate Agencies

This is a delegate agency for the Head Start/ Early Head Start State Preschool program; it administers the funding and coordinates the enrollment for all sites within its jurisdiction. Palmdale School District Early Childhood Education encompasses several programs, including Head Start, Early Head Start, State Preschool, and Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP). Services are restricted to residents of Lake Los Angeles and Palmdale which incorporate zip codes 93535, 93536, 93550, 93551, 93552, 93553, 93591. Early Head Start has two options, home-based and center-based. The home-based option is for Pregnant Women/Teens and newborns. The center-based option is for infants and toddlers. Head Start and State Preschool is available for children who are ages 3 or 4 on or before December 2 of the current year and whose families meet federal/state poverty guidelines. LAUP is available to 4 year-old children residing in Los Angeles County.
