Animal Control

The City of Torrance Animal Control provides animal services for residents of Torrance. Services include animal control, animal rescue, cruelty to animals investigations, animal licenses, animal lost and found and dead animal pickup. The service is restricted to the City of Torrance.

The objectives of Animal Control are to reunite lost pets with their owners, help sick or injured animals, educate the public when dealing with wildlife, cruelty investigations and impoundment of lost or stray animals. Animals found by Animal Control are only kept a short time at the facility and then transported to the L A County Department of Animal Care and Control - Carson/Gardena Animal Care Center. It is also responsible for the issuance of animal licenses and the enforcement of local and state laws pertaining to domesticated and wild animals.
