Employment Discrimination Assistance
Provider: PILIPINO WORKERS CENTER OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
The agency provides employment services for the Filipino community in Southern California. Services include employment discrimination assistance and caregiver training. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Workplace Justice program offers case managers who assist individuals who are victims of wage theft from their employers, provide advocacy for domestic workers, and provide education about general workplace rights and wrongful employment practices.
The Workforce Training program offers free/donation-based one-day trainings for home care aides. All participants who complete the training receive two certificates: one entry level and one annual level. Certifications provided fulfill the government mandated training required under the California Consumer Protection Act 2016. Anyone who currently is a caregiver or wants to enter workforce may attend.
