Temporary Restraining Orders
Provider: SU CASA - ENDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The program provides domestic violence services for abused men and women and their children, including transgendered individuals, who are in the Southeast of Los Angeles County. Services include domestic violence hotlines, internship programs, spouse/domestic partner abuse counseling, spouse/domestic partner abuse prevention, temporary restraining orders. There are no geographic restrictions.
The 24-hour hotline provides crisis intervention, specialized information and referral and intake for the center's emergency shelter.
Services in the shelters include spouse/partner abuse counseling includes individual counseling and support groups for individuals who have been battered, domestic violence educational groups; parenting classes; and life skill classes. Domestic violence prevention is provided through public awareness presentations made upon request to community members or groups. Staff at all of the sites assist clients file for a TRO and will answer any questions pertaining to the TRO filing process.
The center has a student internship or volunteer program for adults 18 years and older who wish to be trained to work in the agency's various programs. A commitment of 12 months is required after training is completed to be accepted as a volunteer.
